Supporting the sustainability of adventure tourism in the
Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan.
High Altitude Sustainability Pakistan (HASP) was established in 2015 to aid in managing the sustainability of adventure tourism and mountain communities in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It was formed by a group of committed individuals concerned about unsustainable tourism practices, lack of suitable regulation, and other activities that were beginning to negatively impact the pristine character of the area. Together we hope to contribute to alleviating these trends.
HASP aims to support responsible tourism in the region by affecting the entire ecosystem - the people who work on the glaciers and trails as well as the area itself.
HASP supports a holistic approach to responsible development of tourism through initiatives that address both the social and environmental aspects of trekking and tourism in the Gilgit-Baltistan.
We do this by focusing on the following key areas:
Board of Trustees
Technical and Strategic Advisors
